So...I've been uninterested in the majority of hip hop right now...or should I say uninspired? I'm trying to find my fix of this musical mix but can't quench the thirst for something a little more tangible.
I just picked up some Donny Hathaway. I picked up the collection which is his greatest hits as well as the self title Donny Hathway album. Amazing voice..so smooth and powerful. You could feel his soul spill out through the speakers.
I also picked up Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" and "What's Going On" albums...I really don't even need to comment on those. Jesse was telling about an album he made for his ex-wife as payment for alimony in his divorce. I need to find that joint cuz Dakota said you can feel his hurt, pain and anger.
That's what I'm fucking talking about right there, music that you feel, understand and thats real.
What you got? I'm on that soul tip right now and am trying to comsume all I can get my hands on. Holla at ya boy!

I'm always on my UGhiphop tip, blowedian!! but been movin to the indie scene cause of gudios bitch ass. I'll post back with a lil album list

Just picked it up and have been listening to it. Pretty deep, real raw and to the point. You know exactly where he's at. I also picked up "I Want You". A good cd. All his cd's are quality. I need to pick up "Trouble Man", a soundtrack to a movie of the same name.
